  quick tips
newThe holiday season can be tiring. But especially for your teeth. From Halloween to Thanksgiving through New Year's Day, you are going to eat. And eat. And eat. Remember to be a vigilant brusher and flosser and even a mouth-washer during heavy holiday chewing times.

newIf you feel those lips starting to dry and chap, try rubbing on a little lemon juice instead of your usual Chapstick. It exfoliates your dead skin and keeps your lips smooth!

newClean your teeth and gums with ordinary table salt! Pulverize the salt in a 1:2 ratio with baking soda, and then brush and you’ll have a dazzling smile with fresh breath!

newMake your own mouthwash by combining the following in an airtight bottle: 1 cup purified water, 1/4 cup soda water, 4 teaspoons vegetable glycerin, 1 teaspoon aloe vera gel, a few drops peppermint, spearmint, or tea tree oil. Shake well before using.

newNuts and whole grains are good for you, but not so good for your smile! Be sure to floss every day...or after every meal...to get rid of all those little "leftovers"!

newYou don't have to wait until your 6-month check-up to get a new toothbrush. If yours is starting to wear out and the bristles are starting to spread, it's time to invest in a new one.

newPeople who find it difficult to handle dental floss may prefer to use another kind of interdental cleaner, like special brushes, picks or sticks. To avoid injuring gums, ask your dentist about how to use them properly.
