How to Use Dry Shampoo with the Conair® Hair Remedy Dry Shampoo Brush

Maybe you’ve thought about it, considered it and decided against it. Maybe you tried it and found out it was too much work. Or maybe you use it and wish there was a way to make it a better experience. Conair took all of those concerns to the drawing board and came away with a great solution. The Conair® Hair Remedy Dry Shampoo Brush is changing the way women use dry shampoo. This battery-powered brush works the dry shampoo powder down into the roots of your hair, distributing it evenly with a minimum of effort. An ordinary hairbrush requires a lot of energy and determination to get the same results.

So, if you’re looking to give dry shampoo a try, let us suggest you do it this way! Take your Conair dry shampoo brush, a good quality brand of dry shampoo and follow these simple instructions. If you’re still on the fence, take a look at The Secret for Making Dry Shampoo Work for You and get the whole dry shampoo story before you take the plunge.
  • Make sure your hair is dry and give it a good brushing to remove tangles. Choose a tinted dry shampoo that’s as close to your own hair color as you can find. Shake and tap the bottle of dry shampoo to make sure the powder is free of clumps. Depending on the type of dry shampoo you're using, open the top and spray or shake a little sample into your sink, to make sure you’re getting a smooth flow from the bottle.
  • Hold the dry shampoo bottle at least 6 to 8 inches from your scalp and begin to spray or shake using small circular motion, focusing on the roots of your hair. Apply the powder to one section of your hair at a time. Start in front, along the hairline, then move to the sides and work your way up to the crown of your head. Be sure to keep the bottle moving to maintain an even distribution of the powder. Use short bursts to fill in spots that need a little extra. Just be careful to avoid creating spots with a heavy buildup of powder. You don’t have to cover all of your hair with powder. Just focus on the few inches near your scalp. Your hair probably isn’t very oily away from your scalp and at the ends.
  • Turn on the Conair® Hair Remedy Brush and begin to massage the powder deep into the roots and scalp where most of the oil resides. Move the brush and massage your scalp until all the powder is absorbed and no longer visible. To get a little extra volume, flip your head upside down and continue to work the bristles through your hair and around the scalp.
  • You can style your hair as you normally would with a comb or brush. You can use your hot styling tools to curl or straighten. You can remove the bristle pad from the brush for cleaning. Just press the buttons on the side of the brush and slide the bristle bar down and out.
  • Try not to use dry shampoo too many days in a row—no more than two days, three at most—if you are really pressed for time. Nothing really beats a drenching shower with a moisturizing shampoo and conditioner, but when you just don’t have the time or energy to go the distance, dry shampoo can get you through.
